Gymnastics started sometimes back in Greece, besides the word is derived from a Greek term, which when translated in English it means excising naked. Early athletes used to exercise while naked. Aerobics refers to performing organized maneuvers with the usage of rings, bars or other apparatus. Gymnastics in Delaware can be done to enhance strength, coordination, agility, physical conditioning or for sport.

Bodily development in ancient Greeks was achieved through a sequence of exercises comprising of wrestling, weight lifting, swimming, jumping, throwing, and running. Physical fitness was valued for various reasons including preparation of armies for warfare. It was important that soldiers should be able to defend themselves. With time people started practicing for entertainment.

Aerobics is included amongst Olympic Games and athletes are both men and women. Distinct sports such as wrestling, track and field events, and boxing developed from aerobics. Tumble and vault are the only games in the current world, which were initial constituent of the early Greece aerobics. Tumbling developed in separate forms in different cultures with no any kind of outside influence.

Egypt and China had distinct types of acrobatics, which were not related to those performed in Greek, although they have certain similarities. Tumbling was done by traveling groups of thespians, jugglers, and dancers. Different types of tumble and acrobatics were in the end merged into circus. Prior to acrobatics being done on international stage they were performed by several circus organizations and people.

A branch of aerobics called floor exercise was made and coached for health purposes of the trainees. Floor exercising involves practicing with no hand gears such as dumbbells, wands, or clubs. This category of gymnastic was primarily not created for competition purposes but has gradually changed into what most people call floor gymnastic. Floor exercise nowadays is an Olympic event since its invention in 1932.

Rings, horizontal bar, pommel horse, vaulting, and parallel rings were among the first events to be competed at international level in 18s. Men events were first included on the Olympic schedule in the 18s. Women events were later introduced in the 19s. They competed in similar events except for the balance beam, which was exclusively contested by women.

Aerobics competitions are held at varied levels such as university, school, club, international, college, or national levels. Current gymnastics entails six different events for men and four categories for women. Male categories are focused on aerobics and power and flexibility of the upper parts of the body. Women categories feature balance beam, uneven bars, vaulting horse, and floor exercise.

International categories have varied age brackets. Athletes are grouped as either juniors or seniors as per their ages. Junior category comprises of athletes under the age of 16 years whereas senior class includes people beyond sixteen years. Most gymnasts start training at a young age and hit the highest level of fitness in either late teens or early twenties. Late teens mean fifteen to nineteen years.
